The D.I.Y. Science series contains some of our favourite experiments for kids to try at home. They are designed to help primary school teachers and carers inspire a child’s curiosity in science. It’s time to get hands-on.

In this episode, we learn how to make sound effects using a slinky, a cup, a spoon and a little knowledge about sound.

This resource is suited to Physics students in years 1, 9 and 10 who are learning about sound energy and waves. It provides a fun demonstration about how sound is made, how it travels and how this knowledge can be used to create sound effects for films.
